"Morning Sickness, Dancing and Anton Du Beke!"

Morning Sickness, Dancing and Anton Du Beke!

Hi everyone and welcome to my new blog!

Can you believe it, I’m pregnant!!!! Even after 22 weeks I still have moments when I have to pinch myself to check it’s not a dream and is actually happening.

It’s a weird but completely wonderful feeling that a little person is growing inside me but I have to admit it hasn’t been all plain sailing so far. Let me fill you in on what’s been going on with me and my body over the past five months.

From about six weeks onwards I have suffered with severe morning sickness, sometimes six to seven times a day!!!! I have come to the conclusion that it must have been a man who called it MORNING sickness – I would like to rename it morning, noon and night sickness!

Some days were so bad that I could barely function and thought about making a bed in my bathroom as I spent more time in there than anywhere else.

Oh, and the sickness wasn’t the only problem either, with the belching and wind (yes, I was putting that nicely) and the overwhelming fatigue that knocked me out by sunset I wasn’t much company during those early months!

I was hoping that the symptoms wouldn’t last long; how wrong was I! I had no let up until I was about 18 weeks. Even now, though things have got slightly easier, I still get nausea daily but you will be pleased to hear the wind has passed! Although I have found that an apple helps quell the nausea feeling.

My husband Peter has been a saint through it all even when he was woken up in the middle of the night with me munching on a juicy Granny Smith apple! I know he found it tough watching me suffer so badly but hopefully the worst is over now.

After 10 wonderful years it was difficult for me to say goodbye to Strictly and not be apart of the show this year but I knew the time was right for me to start a family. It is something that I always wanted to do.

It is even more difficult for me that I won’t be touring with my professional dance partner Anton early in 2014. I will be far too pregnant and unable to fit in the dresses!

However fear not, my career is very important to me and I can promise you that I will be back performing midway through 2014 (health permitting).

And I haven’t had my feet up for the last few months either… throughout all the morning sickness I have still managed to make appearances and perform shows with Anton. I feel it helped me cope with the nausea and I did not want to let people down. Seeing the joy on people's faces when we perform makes everything worthwhile. So I put a smile on my face and twirled around the dance floor.

At nine weeks pregnant, I teamed up with one of my celebrity partners from Strictly, Colin Jackson, and performed a couple of dances and ran workshops on a week-long tour around the Country for Npower in aid of Macmillan Cancer Research.

For those of you that are thinking that continuing to dance might be dangerous for the baby, I have spoken to my midwife and doctor and they both say it is fine as long as I don’t do anything stupid. So I have taken the lifts and flips out of the routines as that may be taking things too far…

As we approach the end of 2013 Anton and I have three shows left before I hang up my dance shoes (for a little while anyway) and they are the biggest three shows of all.

Yes I am so excited to say that we, (Anton and I) are performing at the Royal Albert Hall.

We are doing the final rehearsals this week and our show – Anton and Erin’s Christmas Cracker will open on Sunday 22nd December.

My husband and I went for our 20 week scan last week and I can’t describe the feeling of seeing how the baby has transformed and grown over the past few months. The baby is growing perfectly so far and measured about 10 inches in the scan. We have known the sex of the baby for some time now as we did a harmony test at 12 weeks, which I would thoroughly recommend, and they asked us then if we wanted to know what it was.

I thought I would like to know the gender but for some reason I chickened out. So we asked the nurse to write it on a piece of paper and seal it in an envelope. We took it home and placed it on the dining room table and we stared at it for days until the time was right. We did not have a preference either way but it was still a very special moment when we did finally rip it open. We have not told anyone yet and will probably keep it as our own little secret until the big day.

At my last midwife appointment she asked me to stand on the scales. As I thought to myself “don’t look down” I did and caught sight of my weight. I have to admit I had a little tear in my eye as I left the hospital but it’s all in a good cause.

I am now into my 22nd week of pregnancy and can’t fit into most of my regular clothes. I wish I could say that I am one of those lucky ladies that only expand on the front with a perfect little bump. My husband tells me that my bump and I look perfect but the truth is I have expanded all over! So I have packed all my “pre-pregnancy” clothes into boxes, sealed them and written on the outside of the box: ”Do not open until you are back to normal!!”

However I am very lucky that Tiffany Rose has come to my rescue and provided me with a selection of beautiful maternity clothes to wear. Below is a picture of my 22-week bump and a gorgeous dress by Tiffany Rose.

Lots of love,

"I Can't Keep It Covered Up Any Longer!"

I Can't Keep It Covered Up Any Longer!

Strictly's Erin Boag reveals the real reason she's not on this year's show.

I can't keep it covered up any longer... There's been much speculation about my absence from this year's Strictly Come Dancing, but I can now reveal the real reason why I turned down appearing on this year's show... Yes, I'm truly excited and delighted to say… I'm pregnant!

My husband Peter and I are expecting the arrival of our first child in the spring of next year. It's such a relief to be able to tell all, as it's been 'strictly mum's the word' these past few months! Another reason for being so quiet is that I have been battling with terrible morning sickness – I don't know why it's called "morning" sickness as I had it morning, noon and night!!!

My career is such an important part of my life, however with ten series of Strictly under my belt, it just felt the right time.

Before baby arrives, amongst other things, Anton and I will be performing at the Royal Albert Hall this Christmas with 'Anton & Erin's Christmas Cracker' (I'm sure those gorgeous gowns might need a bit of letting-out by then!).

As some of you will know, Anton and I have been fortunate to perform our sell-out UK tours for the past five years but for obvious reasons I won't be able to perform this time - though I will be helping Anton prepare for, and supporting him on his solo tour which launches early next year.

And after baby's born?... I'll be back dancing just as soon as my body and fitness allows! Anton and I already have bookings in place for next year, and I'm particularly delighted to say we're planning a big come-back tour for 2015! So there's plenty to look forward to, as you all now know – especially the pitter-patter of tiny feet too.

Be sure to keep up with my news here on my blog and by following me on twitter!

Lots of love,

"Strictly Au Revoir"

Strictly Au Revoir

After ten wonderful years, and with a truly heavy heart, I have decided to decline the BBC's very kind offer to compete again in series eleven, and have withdrawn from being a competitive dancer on Strictly Come Dancing.

It's been a very hard decision to make, but it's time for a change and to focus my attention on new challenges. That said, it's not necessarily farewell to Strictly, as I do hope to continue being a part of the show.

Erin Boag on Strictly Come Dancing

With this change in mind, it's a timely opportunity to look back over the last ten series. I feel so privileged to have been involved with the show since it began almost a decade ago when both Anton and I were invited by the BBC to dance in the very first series. It's amazing to be part of something so very special - a global phenomenon! - that not only brought ballroom dancing back into favour, but also onto prime-time television, capturing the hearts and imaginations of viewers - and encouraging people to enjoy dance, too!

It's been so much fun making new friends, meeting wonderful people, and of course being partnered with such lovely celebrities year after year. I'm going to miss spending so much time with my amazing fellow professional dancers - it's true what they say, Strictly really is just like a great big family! From its inspirational producers; the dedicated crew who work so tirelessly behind the scenes; the costume, hair and make-up teams who've made me look so fabulous every week, and of course the wonderful Strictly house band of musicians and singers who never miss a beat, everybody continually works so very hard to push the boundaries and make each series bigger, better and more spectacular!

Strictly wouldn't be Strictly without you, the fans, and I can't thank you enough for all the encouragement and support you've given me and my celebrity partners over the past ten series - you've made this wonderful journey all the more magical.

With so many incredible moments and happy memories it's hard to pick my favourites, and it would be impossible to choose between my wonderful partners... so I'm simply going to leave you with some pro-dance highlights where Anton and I were lucky enough to perform alongside world class artistes. Enjoy!

I'm certainly not hanging up my dancing shoes and retiring from the ballroom... far from it! I'm going to be doing more television work, choreography and teaching (news on that to follow!), and Anton and I will still be performing at shows and events across the country as usual... keep an eye on our websites and twitter for all the latest!

So, it's ciao for now, but in the words of Brucie himself... Keeeeeeeeep dancing!!

Lots of love,

"It's Showtime! Again!... Strictly Series Ten!"

It's Showtime! Again!... Strictly Series Ten!

It's that time of year again, one minute it was summer (or not!) and now we are swiftly heading into Autumn… which means… it's Strictly time again! It's hard to believe the hit show is in its tenth series, with Anton & I having danced in each and every one… and who would have thought it could get any better, but indeed it has: what a fabulous line up for 2012!

Strictly Line Up, 2012

And I've got the perfect man for the job: Richard Arnold, what a sweetheart!  Richard is normally used to commenting on celebrity life from the comfort of his sofa on ITV's 'Daybreak'. He has now been thrust into the glittering spotlight and I'm thrilled to have been paired with him. I had a hoot with Rory last year, so to have another sharp witted man by my side makes for lots of fun and laughter – and that sharp sense of humour is going to come in very handy particularly with Craig's comments! Bring it on!

Erin Boag and Richard Arnold

Richard is no newcomer to competitive reality television shows: he has featured on Celebrity Mastermind and Celebrity Masterchef, doing rather well in both. I'm only hoping he knows his Tap from his tapas, his Merengue from his meringue, and doesn't think I mean a dip when I say Salsa! (Couldn't resist it, sorry!… Just as long as he relishes the experience! Enough, enough, no more I promise!!)

Richard is used to breaking the latest showbiz exclusives, and is already revealing all the back stage news as it happens via twitter. Be sure to follow him for all the latest gossip and sneaky back stage photos (must make sure I'm looking at my best with that camera about). Richard's also getting the celebrity vote too judging by the tweets and well wishes of support from his celebrity pals.

Richard Arnold and his costume dance accessories Sid Owen, Richard Arnold, Michael Vaughan, Nicky Byrne Lisa Riley, Denise Van Outen, Richard Arnold, Dani Harmer... plus Sir Bruce Forsyth

I'll keep you up to speed via twitter over the gruelling weeks to come. I've got my fingers crossed we're going to make it right to the end, but there's lots and lots of hard work ahead, starting with sorting his left foot out from his right… then we'll be off!

Training beckons, so till next time… And don't forget, keeeeep following us on twitter: @ErinBoag and @RichardAArnold.

Lots of love

P.S. Oh and before I go… I'm so pleased Anton has been paired with the fabulous Jerry Hall. Has he finally met his match?! We had thought that either Nancy or Ann could lick him into shape but they just fell for his charms and had an absolute ball as we all know. Hopefully the stunning Texan beauty will have him under her spell in no time!

"Team RoBo - go, Go, GO!"

Team RoBo - go, Go, GO!

Hello everyone!

Much excitement... it's 'Strictly' time again!

Firstly let's begin with my super new celebrity dance partner for series nine: I'm so delighted to have been paired with the brilliant Rory Bremner!! He made an instant impression on me with his great personality, humour, and real sense of fun… Don't think it's all laughs though — he's competitive and wants to make an impression on the dance floor too.

Erin Boag and Rory Bremner with Sir Bruce Forsyth at the Strictly Come Dancing launch show, September 2011

We're working hard, putting in the hours of rehearsals needed, and due to Rory's prior commitments I have been following him around the country rehearsing at every available opportunity — wherever he goes, I go too! I'm working him very hard, and he's enjoying every minute of it!

Erin Boag and Rory Bremner in training for Strictly Come Dancing 2011

I've been asked who I'd most liked to have been paired with, and honestly, I couldn't be happier with Rory (anyway, I'd have eaten McFly's Harry Judd alive!)

In between rehearsals, and my regular dance classes which are carrying on as usual in Kingston on Monday evenings, Rory and I are hectic with photo shoots, interviews and costume fittings. Of course, it's all top secret so no spoilers, but I've got some fabulous new sparkling outfits which I can't wait to wear!

The show bursts onto our screens this coming Friday and Saturday night with the couples spilt between the two. We're kicking off our dances with the Waltz on Saturday (hopefully there won't be too much kicking, just lots of graceful rise and fall!)… I'm not going to give anything away but it's looking good so far. The big question is nerves — I'm hoping he'll be OK and I'm giving him every bit of support, confidence and encouragement I can.

The following week gets us into the Latin vibe, and having seen previous years' satin shirts open to the waist Rory is thinking he may enter into the spirit with both feet and have his chest waxed! (Not sure I should be revealing such intimate details!) I have offered, but think I may have caused enough pain so far!

Of course, there are the stunning Pro dance numbers to look forward too as well, we have been busy in the studio working on some real show-stoppers.

Everything else for now is top secret so I can't say anymore. If you're not already, follow me on twitter so you can get the low-down as it happens, and Rory's on twitter too, so you can get the scoop from both sides! We've been christened Team RoBo so please give us all your support and keep the tweets and messages flooding in as we love to read them!

Lastly before I forget, Anton and I have just released our 2012 Calendar, it is fabulous — entitled 'Day and Night' due to the beautiful shots we've personally chosen to be included. It's exclusively available at, go on treat yourself or someone special this Christmas!

The Anton and Erin Night and Day calendar for 2012

Enough for now, stay tuned, and… Team RoBo to win!!

Ciao ciao for now,

My 2011 Adventures... Part 2

Hi everyone!

Finally... isn't it wonderful to see that Spring has sprung, with some colourful flowers, bright and sunny days, and the beginning of longer evenings! (I must admit I am not a lover of cold winters!)

The Tour

Sadly the tour of 'Puttin' on the Ritz' has come to an end. This year we travelled from Dundee to Plymouth via Ireland with thirty-nine shows in twenty-three cities all in eight weeks.

It has been a fantastic show and exciting that I got to sing this time. If you managed to get to one of the shows thank you for your magnificent support!! It was also a pleasure to meet so many of you after the performances, outside some very chilly and dark stage doors. It is rewarding to have you come and enjoy the show and be such wonderful audiences.

For your delectation I have added some of my favourite photos taken over the eight weeks; I have also added a few links to reviews of the show.

Anton and Erin Puttin' on the Ritz Anton and Erin Puttin' on the Ritz Anton and Erin Puttin' on the Ritz Anton and Erin Puttin' on the Ritz Anton and Erin Puttin' on the Ritz

We had some great moments on the tour, here are a few to remind you (if you were there) and if you weren't, you can have a giggle anyway:

  • When we were performing at Nottingham, someone was eating a box of sweets in the second row and Anton asked if he could have one, so she handed us her box of Roses, which Anton took, tipped them out on stage (so he could find his favourite) and then proceeded to throw the remainder into the audience! I bet she won't offer her sweets to Anton again!!!
  • We were just saying hello to the audience after the first dance in Basingstoke when a couple of late arrivals ambled in to take their seats. Anton did his usual "you're late" routine when suddenly I noticed it was my husband and friends!! Oops!! Anton had a lot of fun taking the mickey out of Peter for the rest of the evening.
  • Whilst driving to the next venue after one of our shows, at about 1am in the morning, we decided to pull over for a coffee. I still had my stage makeup on and false eyelashes, though more concerning, Anton still had foundation on his face! Well, as we walked into the motorway services we realised there were about 30 butch rugby players also queuing for refreshments. The look on Anton's face was a picture, convinced he was going to get the rib taken… and to our surprise, all of a sudden we were surrounded by the team asking for photos — they were big Strictly fans!! It just goes to show even big beefy rugby players enjoy Strictly!
  • Having booked a ticket with 'the world's favourite airline' to come back from Dublin, we turned up around 7.30am expecting to waltz onto our flight, when we were greeted by check-in staff announcing that the flight was full!!! I thought when you booked a ticket you were guaranteed a seat... well apparently not. Anyway, after a little gentle negotiation with the airline staff (Anton threatened to kill someone!!!) we managed to get on the flight, but if the poor soul who gave up their seat for us is reading this — Thank You!
  • When the tour ended I was unpacking my cases and noticed that somehow, I had accumulated 25 bags of Minstrels and Counters — now this is surprising because as you know I don't even eat chocolate ;-) !!! By the time I have eaten them all I will be looking like Miss Piggy! Thanks to everyone who supplied me along the way and contributed to my coronary!! I only finished the tour a couple of weeks ago and I've been at the gym every day to try and get rid of the Minstrel fat!
  • I would like to give a special thank you to Raymond Gubbay, our tour promoter; the fine musicians in the London, Manchester, Scottish and Welsh Concert Orchestras, with their conductor, Richard Balcombe; our lovely singer Lance Ellington from Strictly; and our accompanying dancers, Francine Cornwell, Lisa Dent, Ben Campbell and Tom Goodall. Finally, a big thank you to my wonderful dance partner Anton du Beke… because let's face it guys, without him I would be dancing on my own and that would just look silly!!! Plus he keeps my on my toes every night and makes me laugh with his funny stories — he also lets me speak now and again!!

TRIC Awards and Children's Champions Awards

I went to the TRIC (Television and Radio Industries Club) awards this month. I sat on a table with a bunch of the Strictly people including Felicity Kendall, Brendan, Tess, James, Ola, Anton, Tina O'Brien and a couple of Strictly Execs. and I am pleased to announce that Strictly won the award for Best TV Reality Programme for the 7th Year running!! I even met Peter André, who came over to our table (and to be honest with you he is a lot smaller than I thought he'd be!!).

Anton and Erin at the TRIC Awards, 2011

I also had the pleasure of attending the Children's Champions Awards in London and I must say it was one of the most worthy awards I have ever been to. Congratulations to all winners on the night. Next time I must remember to take a tissue with me.

Anton and Erin at the Childrens Champions Awards, 2011

My Monday Dance Classes

Just to let you know my classes are still running - I even managed to run all my classes whilst performing on the tour (beginners 7:30, improvers 8:45).

Miss Scotland 2011

Anton and I are thrilled to have been invited to host Miss Scotland in June 2011. It will be held in Glasgow and I am going to have to keep an eye on Anton with all those beautiful women around!!

We are quite excited, as the ten finalists will have to learn a ballroom dance routine to perform for the judges and, yes, you guessed it... we will be teaching them! Let's hope that they don't fall off their high heels!!

Christchurch, New Zealand Earthquake

It was so kind and thoughtful of some of you to enquire about my family in NZ. They are all well and safe in the North Island. My heart goes out to all that have suffered and I am glad to say that Brendan Cole's family, who are in Christchurch, are also safe.

Dressing up for Party Time

If you are interested in turning up at a party in a fancy dress designed by me you can go to Fun-Shack and click on the 'Anton & Erin' picture box. There are a number of costumes from the 'Steppin' Out' show. More designs will be coming soon! (Please note though that these are fancy dress costumes and not the real thing!!!!!)

Until next time, lots of love,

Erin X

My 2011 Adventures... Part 1

Hi everyone!

I have been a little busy the last few months, sorry for not blogging sooner!

I wanted you to know I have been thinking of you all, and that I try my best to keep you updated through my 'tweets'. If you aren't already following me please follow me either through the website or Twitter so I can keep you in step with where I am, what I am up to, and what's new!

Strictly Speaking

As Strictly series 8 is now over I'll keep the round-up brief.  I thought this year was one of the best ever, particularly with changes to the format, a great new set and also allowing us the professionals to be slightly more 'adventurous' with the routines - I thought it was great! And just to remind you, I've added a couple of pictures below.

Erin Boag and Anton du Beke dancing to Moon River on Strictly's Movie Night Erin Boag and Anton du Beke - Ghostbusters Erin Boag and Anton du Beke as a Couple of Swells

Even though I was eliminated early (week 4) I had a wonderful time with Peter Shilton and was so pleased to have the opportunity to dance with a true football legend. Thank you Peter!

Christmas Special

I also had the great pleasure of performing on last year's Christmas special with Vince Cable the Business Secretary and Twickenham MP. I had heard about his love of dancing as it has been well publicised: he's been social dancing for many years and he told me that it gives him a great release from his busy lifestyle, and that he thoroughly enjoys it. When a man takes hold of you, you want to feel relaxed and don't want to worry that he'll step on your feet: I needn't have worried on that score with Vince, I was confident in his arms from the start.

I told him, "I do want you to have fun, but I also want you to go out there and be competitive!"

The most important thing for me was that I wanted him to be really proud of his performance. I only had seven, one-hour training sessions to teach Vince the Foxtrot, before taking to the dance floor to impress the judges. Although he was a little nervous at first he quickly found his feet and it was great fun from start to finish... and we finished runners-up in the celebrity 2010 Christmas Special!

On the Road with 'Puttin' On The Ritz'

I am now on the road again and living out of a suitcase – well – not just one suitcase, we actually have to take two cars to carry all of our outfits! Anton and I are currently taking our new show across the UK and Ireland, and so far we've performed in theatres in Northampton, London, Leicester, Liverpool, Sheffield and Stoke on Trent. While you are reading this we will probably be in Belfast or Dublin and approaching the end of the third week of our 8-week tour.

The show is very hard work, and physically and mentally tiring but we both love it. We are joined on stage by four talented dancers, and this year our fabulous singer is Lance Ellington from the Strictly Come Dancing band. Our very large live orchestra plays a range of music by such greats as Leonard Bernstein and Cole Porter - it’s a fast show and we have some breathtaking numbers.

As a special treat this year I have added a little song and dance routine to the ensemble… yes you read it correctly, I am singing! Who would've thought it! It’s not as daunting as one would expect, actually I really enjoy it.

Puttin' on the Ritz

Click the image above to download the full list of tour dates and venues for 'Puttin’ on the Ritz, and if you haven’t already got tickets you can book them at Raymond Gubbay's website.

Monday Dance Classes

I have resumed my dance classes at Kingston Dance Studio every Monday between 7.30 and 10pm. If you've got the dancing bug, or just want to give it a go, come down and join in. We have beginners and intermediate lessons so all abilities are welcome – and everyone is very friendly. Beginners start at 7.30 and improvers at 8.45, no need to bring a partner, just come along and have fun.

Ok, I promise I won't leave it so long next time before updating my blog, but in the mean time don’t forget to follow me on twitter. For now I will leave you with one of my very favourite moments from Strictly 2010.

Lots of love,

Erin X
P.S. Please feel free to add your comments, as I often come on and read them all!

"From Red Carpet to the Week 1 Waltz"

From Red Carpet to the Week 1 Waltz

A Big Catch Up...

First of all I would like to say how sorry I am for not posting a blog for so long; as you can imagine things have been a little hectic over the last few weeks!

So I will start from the beginning...

The launch show went out with a big bang, there was the red carpet, a big new shiny set, lots of professional show numbers and of course the dazzling costumes. I myself had 3 costume changes for the one show!

Erin and Anton on the red carpet at the Launch show

You have to believe me when I say this; we did not know who our new partner would be until the announcement that you all saw on the launch show. I have read many comments that you though we must have known, due to the last dance where we ended up next to our partners at the end. What you didn’t know is that the professionals practised that dance with SEVEN different endings - one for each celebrity!

During the launch show it was announced that I was dancing with the Goalkeeping legend Peter Shilton, which I must say, at the time, was a big surprise to me because I didn't think they'd give me my sixth sportsman and second Goalkeeper out of eight series!

Don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining at all, as sportsmen know how to train really hard and are very competitive.

Straight after the launch I found out I was dancing the Waltz in the first week and had two and a half weeks to try and get him up to scratch.  Peter lives in Coventry, so hence I spend a lot of time trekking up and down the Motorways. The first few days were tough but Peter soon got to grips with what he had to do which was - basic technique, good frame and dancing to the music... no easy task for a complete beginner.

Erin Boag and Peter Shilton

As the days counted down Peter was getting better and better, he was feeling confident and so was I... until the day before the big show when we went for a short rehearsal on the Strictly set at the BBC studios.  What happened next I hadn’t experienced since series 2 with Julian Clary - Peter’s nerves kicked in with the reality of what was about to happen and all the steps disappeared from his mind!!  I tried to reassure Peter that this sometimes happens and not to be too hard on himself - it would all come right on the night. Well, that’s what I thought. I have to say I didn’t sleep well that night with the worry of what might happen in 24 hours live in front of 10 million people if Peter did in fact forget ALL his steps!!

The morning of the live show finally arrived, make-up and hair started at 9 o’clock and that was just Peter... just kidding, yes we do get there early, it can take a while to make us girls look pretty. After make-up and hair, we have band call, which is when we hear our music played by the live band for the very first time. Straight after it’s into costume, a quick powder and straight into the dress run. This is when we practise running the show as live to make sure hopefully everything runs smoothly before the actual live show!  If we have any spare time, we have a quick snack, then more make-up, more hair spray and then move onto the stairs behind the set - ready for the walk down as the show goes live.

We hear the title music start, the audience are roaring and Bruce and Tess go on; I straighten Peter’s tie, hold his hand, give him a smile before walking down the stairs for the very first time live. I am feeling very excited as the new series begins.

Peter and I wait patiently for our turn to dance (we were second). Thankfully we don’t have to wait too long because the longer we wait, the more nervous Peter would become!  As the VT shows for our rehearsals, Peter and I walk down to take our place on the floor; our names are announced and the crowd are so loud that I am worried that we won’t be able to hear the start of our music!!

Throughout our dance I could feel Peter’s nerves - in fact I'm sure I could hear his heart beating, it was beating so hard. But he manages to get through and I am very proud of him for finishing his routine to a respectable standard for the first week.

The judges were very gentle and fair with their comments and awarded Peter 21 points but were very aware that he was nervous throughout his dance.

Erin Boag and Peter Shilton in their Waltz

Peter felt relieved to have finished the Waltz, but before he could relax it was straight into training on the Sunday morning at 10 o’clock to start work on the Salsa. We had to loosen those hips and make him feel confident and create a party atmosphere on the dance floor. Peter has been working really hard over the last few days getting his Salsa ready, losing his inhibitions, wriggling those hips and feeling a lot more confident. I am really hoping that this Saturday he feels a lot more relaxed, now he knows what to expect, and hopefully he can now enjoy the experience a lot more.

We look forward to performing our Salsa for you - fingers crossed - without any hitches on Saturday night.

Lots of love,

P.S. Don’t forget to vote, we need it!
